One of the Bible Colleges I attended did may things right and for such outstanding job I remain grateful, but I would not hesitate to express with uttermost burden in my spirit the fact that the institution had, erroneously, taught that speaking in tongues was a thing of the past and that healing also was a thing of the past. Either of the positions is not true. Take speaking in tongues, for example. If the saying had been true, how would anyone explain clearly, truly, and concisely, the fact that as I knelt in my room that night in prayer to God Almighty I was filled to the overflowing? As a result, I started to speak in other tongues. Of course, I did not know what I was saying, but I did find out later that I did not have to understand it (1 Corinthians 14:2). After the incident I was filled with inexplicable joy and peace in the Holy Spirit that is better to be experienced than imagined.
Again, like many other institutions that do not care anymore about sound doctrine but are teaching adulterated theology, the college teaches that miracles, signs and wonders have ceased with the Apostles. Really? If that were the case I would have been dead by now. For, I had some medical problems and problems beyond the scope of medicine. The former was simple because the doctors knew what to do. But for the latter, doctors had no clue; they did not know why I had this debilitating weakness that made it impossible for me to stand, say for fifteen minutes, without feeling like I was passing out. At first, they thought that I had AIDS but after a battery of tests they concluded that I had no AIDS. I knew I had no AIDS but did not know why I had this devastating problem. And because the doctors did not find the cause for this problem they did not know how to treat me. It was a hopeless situation. I went from one doctor to another and from this hospital to that hospital. Thanks be to God Almighty who sees everything, knows everything, heals everything and does everything as He pleases. This awesome God healed me. I am a living testimony to the fact that the Almighty God heals even today.
If you desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit, kneel on the floor of your room, or anywhere you may be, lift your hands up to God and in all humility, ask the Lord to fill you, and He will do so. If you are sick and want to see the power of God work for you, dispel any iota of doubt and ask God to heal you and you will be surprised to find out how quickly God Almighty will grant you miracles, signs and wonders. The Holy Bible says, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and for ever.” Hebrews 13: 8
Following the supernatural healing and the calling of God in my life, I have continued to serve as the pastor of Christ Forever Church (CFC) since November 25, 2012. The church which started at the basement of my house has continued to grow, thanks to the God Almighty. Some of the friends I had then could not understand why I would leave such a lucrative profession as nursing to go into preaching; others see it as sheer madness. But, there should be no apology to anyone for choosing to do what God, the Creator of the universe wanted and still wants me to do. And, what did the Scripture say? “And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father or mother or wife, or children or lands, for my name’s sake shall receive an hundredfold and shall inherit everlasting life” Matthew 19:29.
Truth be told, I had never seen myself as possessing the required skills to be a pastor. Never had I thought that I measured up. I had always believed that the other believer fasted better, prayed better and worshipped God better than I did. I concluded, though speciously, that I did not measure up spiritually to be a pastor…. It is amazing to be called of God Almighty! What did the Holy Scripture say? “But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”1Samuel 16:7. Thank You my LORD and Maker for counting me worthy to serve YOU and YOU alone.
